"Station Astraeus"

Home to 5,000 top-notch UC soldiers and staff, Station Astraeus is the headquarters and staging point for a special, government-funded Black Ops operations that has roots in the Private Sector. The station is hidden in a fairly stable section of the belt, where asteroid collisions are rare. A magnetic field generator reacts with the unobtainium-rich asteroids, repelling them and shielding the base from destruction.

Deep in the asteroid is a Stereolithography Plant- a large 3D printer that can produce almost any device as long as the raw materials and plans are present. This allows for most of the program's equipment to be designed, tested, and built on base. Also, it limits outside contact, making the base even more untraceable. Advanced electronics must be manufactured separately, in the test labs.

A hidden, satellite grid in-place throughout the belt insures that Astraeus knows about anything abnormal happening in the Fringe.
