History:

The Unified Coalition was born in 2078, half-way through the 23 years of civil war in the Eden System. When human colonists arrived in Eden in 2065 (Date uncertain), they brought their baggage from Earth with them. A communist government arose, called the Workers and Peoples Federation, along with a fascist government called the Fourth Empire. The 4E staged themselves on Frontier, and the WPF on Pandora.

After many years of war, obviously going nowhere, a push for neutral ground was made. The neutral zones of Panthalassa and Shadow, which had been ravished by war, called for a democracy. Eventually, underground movements caused enough pressure within the WPF that it folded into a social democracy: the Unified Coalition.

Now with numbers and vigor, the UC crushed their fascist neighbors, burning Frontier to the ground, and turning it into the sandy wasteland that it is today.

20 years ago, the Unified Coalition nearly collapsed from the inside. Rebellions and terrorism reached such a high point that the system almost shut down entirely. The Coalition was frantic for a solution. After a large wave of riots in 2237, the Coalition demanded immediate military force, starting the Third Civil War. However, the Coalition managed to retain power by offering large sums of money to the private sector, who formed large, heavily armed Paramilitary organizations. They quickly crushed the rebellions. Today, the UC still relies heavily on these contractors to act as private police, though most paramilitary organizations have shut down.
