"Breaking and Entering" - Intro Game for Matt Aran.

Suddenly, the sound of a motorcycle brought Matt to his senses.

What happened?

He looked at his surroundings and it came back to him in a flash. Thugs, four of them, had broken into his apartment, that sat on top of his rare-sea antiquities shop, and beaten him senseless.

Matt looked at the clock. They couldn't have been gone 10 minutes.

His head still throbbing, Matt ran downstairs into his shop. The place was a mess, but only two things were missing: a rare, Panthlassan Shark tooth, and 800 metros cash.

Matt grabbed his fishing knife and stepped out into the night. Outside his house, he looked around. Dusty footsteps ran off towards the city, and a single tire track ran towards the docks. Which way did they go?

Matt looked around. Dang, where did they go? They could have split up He walked to the footprints first and squated down and looked at them. He brushed the dust on the footprint up with his forefinger. Not fresh enough. He walked over to the tire tracks and looked at them. Drops of gasoline laced the tracks of the tire like the rider had driven away in a hurry. This must have been them, but why one vehicle, why to the docks? I've got to make up my mind fast, or I'll never catch them. He decided to follow the tire tracks towards the dock. Standing up he took a deep breath, when I find these thugs, they're gonna be in for it. He started running in the direction, following the tracks, watching carefully for any sharp turns or ambushes.

Matt turned, and headed off towards the dock. It wasn't far: in a few minutes, he was in sight of them.

Creeping in the shadows, Matt watched the dock. At the far end, several figures were loading a motorcycle onto a small boat. The engine of the small boat started, and Matt knew he didn't have much time. Two men were still on the dock, loading the bike. They would then untie the boat: he had that much time to conceive a plan and attack.

Matt crept in the shadows making sure not to make a sound. He stole up behind a crate on the dock five feet away from the men loading the ship and crouched behind it. He peered out around it and saw both of the men with their backs turned to him, one on his left, the other five feet away from his comrade to the right. Well, I'm stronger right then left, so I'll go for the left one first, then protect myself from the right. He picked up a rock he found next to his shoe, and tossed it into the water next to the thug on the right side, keeping out us sight.

The thugs spun to look into the water. "Watch the boat." The thug then walked towards the end of the dock and the source of the noise. The group had been split in two.

Matt slowly crept from behind the box to the thug nearest to him. He pulled out his fishing knife and prepared to strike. As soon as he was close enough, he put a strong hand around the thugs mouth and aimed two stabbs; one at his back, one at his neck.

Matt quietly dispatched the first thug, and lowered the body to the ground. Just then, the second guard turned and saw Matt standing over the body of his friend.
"Start the engine!" He shouted to the driver of the small tug, who nearly jumped when he noticed Matt.
The thug on the dock pulled out his knife, ready to fight. Matt had to get past him to get to that boat.

Matt looked up as he heard the shout. Crap, I got to get to the boat before it goes away. I can't let them get out of my sight or I'll never be able to track them. He charged the guard that was ready for him. Matt's knife was already in his hand, so as soon as he was in striking distance, he quickly sidestepped to the right and stabbed out towards the guards rib cage.

Matt's knife sunk into the man's chest. Ahead of him, the boat started to pull away. Matt could either jump for it, or try and steal a boat and follow.

Matt saw the boat starting to leave the dock. Crap, they're getting away. Maybe I could jump the distance. He ran towards the end of the dock and saw the distance between him and the boat. Dang, thats a far way. I can't make that, lets see if there are any other boats around here. He quickly swivled his head from side to side looking for a boat. He spotted one on the dock. He jumped in and looked around at the engine. I hope there's keys, because I've got no clue how to hotwire this thing. He looked around for a couple of seconds, and found a pair of keys underneath one of the seats. Lets hope this works. He choose one and put it into the ignition and turned the key.

The engine hummed to life, and Matt's boat whipped around to pursue the tug. The tug had a mile lead, but Matt was gaining. After a few minutes, another boat came into view.

They'll probably meeting for a deal... I've got to stop them before that.

Matt pulled up besides the tug and grabbed onto the rigging and started to pull himself up. It was a small boat, with a crew of three.

Matt reached the top and pulled himself over the edge, right onto the feet of one of the saliors. Matt rolled out of the way just in time as the man's cleaver hit right where his face was. Matt got to his feet, ready to fight.

Matt quickly lunged at the thug with his knife i his hand. He aimed his stab for the rib cage, slanted upward for maximum damage potential.

Matt's lunge missed, and the large sailor slipped out of his range. He then raised the cleaver and swung wildly at Matt's stomach.

Matt jumped backwards, sucking in his stomach, squizing his eyes closed for a split second in the action of dodgeing.

The thug's cleaver fell short, and stuck into the side of the boat. He shouted in Russian for his fellow crewmen as he tried to dislodge the weapon. In the split second, Matt looked to see that they were getting closer to the other boat.

Matt knew he had to act fast before the thugs friends got to him. He aimed a low sweeping kick hoping to knock the legs out from underneath the thug as he was trying to free his cleaver. His plan was to position his knife in a way that when the thug fell, he would fall on the knife, hopefully killing him.
