"Finish the Deal" Side Quest

01/22/54, 0345H

After being in the air for nearly two hours, the Typhoon neared the crash site. Matt was on the right door gun, and Gekko was on the left. Will was in position in the middle with his sniper, ready to spot targets for the gunners, or take them out himself.

Right as the sun started to come up, they touched down. The area was littered with the helicopter debris, some crates, and four bodies.

"Someone stay onboard to cover from the air. Two of you, get out."

Will stayed on the SA-2, and Gekko and Matt hopped off. The shipment had to be around the crash somewhere...

I continued to watch the ground carefully, looking for animals, people, and traps. I kept my rifle ready, and stood near the side-mounted gun, ready for anything.

Matt walked around with Gekko keeping an eye out for animals, rebels, and the shipment with his StG at the ready.

"You guys should search those crates and bodies. It may have the shipment, or other useful items."

Matt walked over to the crates and tried opening one to see what was inside of it.

Matt opened the first of the two crates, which contained some BLU RADAR gear. The second box had the shipment in it-a whole case of Lancer Assault Rifles.

Before they could do anything, a bullet wizzed by Matt's head. Behind, him, he could just make out two dark figures.

I was lurking near some cover when i walked over to the bodies, had just started to reach over to one of them when i saw a bullet wizz by matt's head. I spun around and went behind a (tree/wall) for cover.

Gekko hunkered down behind the crashed helicopter. From the forest, another bullet fired, aimed at Matt...

Aaron maneuvered the helicopter lower into the canopy, and kept it steady for Will.

I took off my hat and placed it on top of the broken helicopter to my left and started to slowly peak my head up just enough to see where the bullets were coming from and who was firing them.

A bullet shot from the forest, about 150 feet away, and hit the brim of Gekko's hat, revealing the second shooters location to everyone.

I swore silently to myself....'that was my favorite hat.' I looked over at my team and gave each a look. They seemed to know where these guys were now at the expense of my hat and that there was nothing i could do until or they got closer.

Matt ran behind the chrashed helicopter and chrowched down. He looked through his red dot sight at the second intruder that shot at Gekko's favorite hat. He shot a burst at him, then crowched down and crawled to the other side of the helicopter.

Unsure of their armament and armor, I steadied myself and took careful aim. Exhaling, I fired my sniper at first one attacker, and then the other, aiming for the most visible body part: their heads.

Matt shot the first attacker, and then two quick shots from Will's sniper in the helicopter finished them off. Matt checked the bodies.
"They're rebel scouts. The main force will be here soon."
"Then we better start moving. Grab anything you want, and load those crates up." Aaron said as he landed the SA-2 in the small hole in the canopy.
