"Glowing Algea Samples" -Side Mission

The SA-2 Typhoon flew deep into the night. After almost a half an hour, Aaron spotted trio of glowing lakes. He set the Helicopter down, and let Gekko, Matt and Will disembark on the shore. He then took off and began circling them, probing the forest with the SA-2's search-light.

I followed Gekko and Matt at a distance, with my rifle ready in case anything happened. I carefully watched the forest around us for anything unusual. Or for the usual giant animals.

I started walking over to the emerald glowing lake. I was so intrigued by the color that i pull out my knife and held it to the light, seeing my knife glow. I put it away and took out the vial the doctor had given me as well as a second one i picked up along the way. I knelt down the edge of the lake and began dunking the vials into the lake trying to capture some of the irredescent light.

Gekko captured, and stoppered the two now-glowing vials. However, behind them, he heard movement.

I heard a rustle of leves in the bushes and quickly un holstered Tia and pointed the pistol at the bush.

From the bushes, four dark shapes emerged. Aaron put the spotlight on two of them, and they shrunk back behind the bush, but Gekko saw them: large, black Jackals. Suddenly, one of them lunged at him from the right of the bush.

I shot twice at the launching figures chest and with my free hand reached for my Kabar.

The second shell caught the jackal in the chest, and it fell over, dead. Another one jumped at Gekko, and one at Matt, to his right, as Gekko unsheathed his knife.

I felt my mind rush but let my instincts take over. I only was able to fire off one shot at the jackal this time but place my forearm across with my chest, allowing the 7'' Kabar to point outward in the direction of the jackal in the off chance it tried to land on me.

I quickly hit the ground, prone. I took aim at the last jackal's back with my sniper, and fired. I then switched targets, and fired at the jackal charging Matt

Gekko's bullet barely missed, but his knife hit home. The jackal, wounded, leapt off of him to stand a few feet away, growling. Another jackal stood next to it, and started to circle.

I too began to circle, not allowing the beasts to see my back. After circling for what seemed to be an eternity i made the first motion. I quickly shot will a look but then look straight back to one of the jackals and shot at it 4 times in quick succession.

Will shot the Jackal attacking Matt, and Gekko finished off the injured jackal.

i spun around, starring at the last jackal. I extended my arm, took aim and fired a single shot, aiming for the eye socket.
